About Bespoke Folk Music

Bespoke Folk Music is a boutique music touring agency Connecting Folk in our Community.

We curate and promote unique music experiences—from regional town halls to innovative independent venues —cultivating a touring network that unites artists, audiences, and cultural spaces. By offering live shows, workshops, and special events, we create opportunities for meaningful connection and artistic development.

We work with independent musicians and music groups across the diverse and exciting spectrum of folk and folk-adjacent music. Our artists explore time, place, story and tradition in wide ranging expressions from exquisite banjo and fiddle duos to theatrical concerts incorporating wigs, digital samples and four-part harmonies.

Each event we present is thoughtfully designed, combining local community engagement with creative promotion strategies. We embrace grassroots principles and integrate modern tools to broaden our reach, enhance our events, and cultivate new audiences.

Bespoke Folk Music was founded in 2024 by two seasoned independent musicians based in Australia who share a vision: that folk music can bring people together, illuminate cultures and stories whilst fostering important connections and conversations.

Together, we strive to nurture a thriving folk ecosystem—supporting artists, enriching communities, and showcasing exciting folk music.

Meet Emily-Rose and Erin

Emily-Rose Sharkova

Emily-Rose is co-founder of Bespoke Folk Music. She has been an independent, freelance musician and educator for 22 years, managing and booking for all her own musical projects for 15 years, and has co-run a recording studio & label for the past 4 years.

As a performer, Emily-Rose is involved in a diverse collection of projects including Emily-Rose & The Wild, Shark & Fox, Little Clouds and The Good Behaviours. From songwriting, to virtuosic chamber-folk and intricate jazz inspired compositions, Emily-Rose’s musical language is rich and nuanced.

Her love of so many musical styles led her to fall in love with the folk scene at the age of 19, when she was invited, with her piano accordion, to play at The National Folk Festival in Australia. Since this time she has made the folk community her home, whilst still having her toes in the jazz and indie scenes.

Emily-Rose’s experience in booking, curating, marketing, tour management, PR and production gives her a wealth of skills to draw on when designing bespoke music tours for folk adjacent artists. She is passionate about the experience of both artist and venue – whether it be a jazz club, concert hall or intimate house concert. Being a touring artist herself, Emily-Rose also has a deep understanding of what artists need on tour, which stands her in good stead as Bespoke Folk Music’s main tour booker.

Erin Heycox

Co-founder of Bespoke Folk Music, Erin Heycox is a violinist, vocalist, songwriter, writer and teacher based in regional Victoria.

Erin is the front-woman of reimagined Australia and Broken Creek and has worked across an eclectic range of musical projects, including sea shanty groups, Roma jazz bands, bluegrass drag shows, and improvised soundscapes for theatre.

The common thread of Erin’s work is connecting communities with music and the arts, whether she’s curating events with festivals and arts organisations, directing choirs, managing the G.R.A.I.N. Store Arts Gallery, coaching performing arts teachers with the Song Room, or promoting tours with Bespoke Folk Music Service. Erin is a member of the Board of Folk Alliance Australia.
